Maxixe aquamarine of 14.20 carats from the historic Maxixe deposit — the source whose deep saturation distinguishes "Maxixe" material from standard pale aquamarine and commands a separate market. Cut as an asscher to bring the depth of colour onto the table where it reads strongly under any lighting. Untreated. Aquamarine in this saturation grade is rare without heat treatment — most "deep" aquamarine on the market today is heated-to-blue from greenish rough. Maxixe natural-blue specimens are an order of magnitude scarcer and trade as a distinct sub-category. AGL report 1108821 confirms Maxixe origin and untreated colour. Natural-blue Maxixe aquamarine above 10 carats trades $2,200-$2,800 per carat through Brazilian gem dealers and at Geneva auctions.
