Star sapphire of 12.50 carats from Ratnapura — the classic Sri Lankan source whose oriented rutile silk produces the sharpest 6-ray asterism in commercial star sapphire. Cut as a high cabochon to maximise the apex sharpness of the star. Untreated, with the silvery grey-blue body colour typical of finer Ratnapura material. The star walks crisply across the dome under any single light source — the test for a "fine" star sapphire versus a fuzzy or washed-out commercial example.
