Brazilian Bi-color Tourmaline 8.90ct

tourmaline · 8.90 ct · Brazil, Minas Gerais · certified by GIA — fractional on-chain ownership on CaratShares.

Bi-colour elbaite tourmaline of 8.90 carats from the Minas Gerais pegmatites — a single crystal showing both pink and green saturation zones in the same stone, which the cutter has framed in a classic emerald cut to highlight the colour boundary. Untreated. The pink end carries the saturation typical of rubellite material; the green is the cooler chrome-green characteristic of Brazilian elbaite. The colour zone is clean and sharply defined at the centre of the stone — bi-colour material with a fuzzy or smeared transition trades at heavy discount. GIA report 5328921 confirms natural untreated bi-colour elbaite. Stones of this clarity, size, and colour separation typically range $2,200-$2,800 per carat in the international gem trade.
