Kashmir sapphire of 4.30 carats from the Padar valley deposits, mined before the historic source's effective closure in the early 20th century. Modern Kashmir material on the open market originates almost entirely from old estate inventories or generational holdings. The colour — the storied "cornflower blue" — has a velvety, slightly hazy quality that diffuses light internally and is the single most recognisable optical signature in fine sapphire. Untreated, with the soft saturation that no modern source has ever managed to replicate. Gübelin report 21458 establishes Kashmir origin and untreated status.
