Pailin sapphire of 6.20 carats — the historic Cambodian source whose stones gave the early 20th-century jewellery houses their reference for "true blue" before Burmese material took the spotlight. Modern Pailin output is essentially closed; estate stones only.
The asscher cut — square step cut with deep cropped corners — is unusual for sapphire and concentrates colour while showing the characteristic Pailin velvet texture across the table. Untreated, with the saturated medium-deep blue that distinguishes Cambodian material from Sri Lankan or African.
