Pailin sapphire of 6.20 carats — the historic Cambodian source whose stones gave the early 20th-century jewellery houses their reference for "true blue" before Burmese material took the spotlight. Modern Pailin output is essentially closed; estate stones only. The asscher cut — square step cut with deep cropped corners — is unusual for sapphire and concentrates colour while showing the characteristic Pailin velvet texture across the table. Untreated, with the saturated medium-deep blue that distinguishes Cambodian material from Sri Lankan or African. GRS report 20240312 establishes Pailin origin and absence of treatment. Comparable Pailin sapphires of this calibre have crossed Christie's at
