Spinel of 3.80 carats from the Mahenge deposits in Tanzania — the source whose 2007 discovery transformed spinel from a connoisseur's curiosity into a major investment-grade gem class. Mahenge material in this hot-pink range is the most sought-after spinel on the secondary market. Untreated and never thermally enhanced (spinel rarely is).
